Design Rule Review

PCB Design Rule Check (DRC) Services

Find PCB rule violations before you release your design. Send your editable PCB files and the rules that apply to your build so GlobalWellPCB can review clearance, connectivity and geometry findings with your engineering team.

  • Rule setup
  • Violation review
  • Recheck & closure

Get a traceable list of design rule issues and the decisions needed to resolve them.

Service scope

Check the rules that matter to your board

A useful DRC review starts with the correct source revision and an agreed rule set. Factory limits and customer constraints should be reflected in that setup.

  • Rule and constraint setup

Review the clearance, width, hole and other board rules supplied for the project.

  • Connectivity checks

Identify unconnected items, short-circuit findings and mismatches that need engineering attention.

  • Copper and drill geometry

Review reported trace, spacing, via, hole and annular ring violations.

  • Exceptions and recheck

Separate actionable issues from accepted exceptions and review the revised design.

Your deliverables

Files and feedback for your next step

Confirm the required formats and deliverables when we define your project scope.

  • DRC findings report

See the reported rule, location and affected items for each reviewed issue.

  • Correction list

Use clear actions and engineering questions to work through the findings.

  • Exception record

Document the rationale for any rule exception your team approves.

  • Recheck summary

Track which findings were resolved and which remain open for the reviewed revision.

What to send

Start with the information you already have

Send the available files together and identify the revision. Tell us which details are still to be confirmed.

  • Editable design source

PCB file, matching schematic or netlist, supporting libraries and the exact revision.

  • Applicable rules

Fabrication limits, layer build, copper requirements and customer-specific constraints.

  • Known concerns

Previous DRC report, critical nets and any design exceptions already approved.

Working together

From your enquiry to the next design step

  1. Confirm the source revision

Identify the files and manufacturing rules to be checked.

  2. Run and review DRC

Review the reported violations in the context of the design.

  3. Agree corrections

Confirm design changes and record any accepted exceptions.

  4. Recheck the revised board

Review the updated results before release.

A clean DRC result confirms compliance with the rules checked. It does not establish circuit functionality or replace fabrication, assembly and testability reviews.

Your questions

Before you send your files

Do you need editable PCB files?

Editable source provides the connectivity, rules and board objects needed for native DRC. Gerber-only files are generally more suited to a CAM or DFM review.

Can you use our manufacturer’s rules?

Provide the rule set or fabrication requirements and identify the planned stackup. The review should use the constraints agreed for your build.

Is DRC the same as DFM?

DRC checks the configured design rules. DFM reviews the fabrication data against the intended manufacturing process. Both may be useful before release.

Can you recheck a corrected design?

Provide the new source revision and the original findings list so the recheck can track resolved issues and remaining exceptions.

Need a DRC review before release?

Share the editable board source, applicable rules and the revision you want checked.
