PCB Material Selector

Screen a curated set of laminate references against your construction, dielectric-loss and thermal criteria. Every candidate includes its data basis and manufacturer source.

TRANSPARENT REFERENCE SCREENINGRequirements → shortlist

Hard filters. Visible exclusions.
Unknown data never counts as a pass.

Start with the requirements you know.

Six reference materials. No availability claim, compatibility score or automatic stackup approval.

Your requirements

Updates as you edit
IMS is outside this reference set; no match will be fabricated.
Optional. Blank = no loss filter. Methods may differ.
Optional. Only a verified DSC value can pass.

Calculated locally in this browser. No inputs are uploaded.

A shortlist, not a substitution approval. Blank data is not zero. Tg is not maximum continuous operating temperature. A material V-0 record does not certify the complete PCB.

No screening result until JavaScript loads.

Trace each candidate back to its source.

This is a small, versioned reference library—not a catalog of every laminate or a stock list. Tool version 1.0.0 · Reference data date: 28 September 2026. The downloaded result includes this version and reference date. Check the linked manufacturer sources for current values and document revisions. Results remain in a stable reference order; no hidden suitability or price score is applied.

The numeric loss filter compares only the transcribed typical 10 GHz Df values. Different measurement methods and construction details still prevent direct substitution based on that number alone.

Hard filters are explicit

A material appears only when all selected filters pass. Missing 10 GHz Df, comparable DSC Tg or verified V-0 information fails the corresponding active filter. It is not treated as zero, an estimate or a presumed pass.

Process Dk is not design Dk

Rogers process values and separately published design values are labeled independently. Isola construction tables show weave / resin dependence. Use the right design data for the actual stackup, frequency and solver; a product-page typical value is not a universal impedance input.

Tg does not establish operating temperature

DSC, DMA and TMA can produce different Tg values. Only DSC values enter this tool’s Tg filter. Continuous operating temperature, UL recognition, thermal aging, reflow robustness and the finished construction need separate review.

A reference material does not qualify a construction

Approve laminate and prepreg grades, copper type, pressed thickness, loss budget, fabrication process, thermal requirements and supply availability. The flex option identifies a laminate family; it does not approve bend radius or dynamic flex life. The IMS option has no curated candidate and explicitly returns no match.

Questions before
you use the result.

Know what the tool answers—and what still needs engineering review.

Why does an apparently suitable material disappear?

Open the exclusions below the results. A selected filter may require data that is not verified in this reference set. Unknown is not a pass.

Does no match mean no material exists?

No. It means none of the six curated records passes all active filters. A different grade, construction or qualified supplier may satisfy the requirement.

Can I substitute a listed material without review?

No. Product-level typical properties do not establish loss, impedance, reliability or fabrication equivalence for your board.
