Components Sourcing
Turn your assembly BOM into a purchasing plan with exact part numbers, defined supply ownership and approved alternatives. Request component sourcing with your PCB assembly or specify the items you will provide.
Component sourcing that follows your approved BOM
Parts sourcing connects the design you specify to the materials used on the assembly line. A clear BOM makes it possible to discuss price, availability and source requirements without changing the meaning of your design.
GlobalWellPCB reviews manufacturer part numbers, quantities and purchasing responsibility with the assembly order. Identify sensitive or long-lead items and define how proposed alternatives should be approved.
Specify the exact part and manufacturer rather than only a description.
Approve proposed changes before they are purchased or fitted.
Avoid missing or duplicate purchases across a mixed kit.
Review readiness before confirming the assembly schedule.
Choose the work your order needs
Complete BOM sourcing
Request procurement for the assembly BOM. Include the exact manufacturer and orderable part number, quantities and source requirements for each line.
Partial BOM sourcing
Keep selected ICs, modules or customer inventory under your control while requesting other items through us. Record ownership and availability by BOM line.
Customer-supplied component kits
Provide identified materials for assembly. Define quantities, packaging, labels and the treatment of remaining stock so incoming materials can be reconciled with the build.
How the project moves forward
- 01
Send the component BOM
Include manufacturer, exact MPN, quantity and reference designators.
- 02
Review supply and source requirements
Resolve incomplete lines, approved alternatives and customer-held parts.
- 03
Approve procurement changes
Confirm source requirements, exceptions and the quantity to purchase.
- 04
Release material for assembly
Keep the delivered kit and purchasing approvals tied to the assembly revision.
What to send for a useful quotation
| File or requirement | Details to include |
|---|---|
| Project and quantity | Assembly revision and fitted quantity for each release. |
| Part identity | Complete orderable MPN, manufacturer, value and package. |
| Population data | Fitted reference designators, quantities and DNP items. |
| Availability brief | Identify customer inventory and requested sourcing priorities. |
| Purchasing BOM | Include manufacturer, complete order code, value, package, quantity and fitted references. |
| Source and supply instructions | List approved sources or documentation, alternatives, consigned items and material ownership. |
Include the quantity, current revision and required delivery date. If a decision is still open, identify it in your message so the review can address it.
Know what will be checked and returned
| Review area | What it covers | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Correct orderable part | Check the exact MPN and manufacturer against the approved BOM. | Resolve suffix, package and temperature-grade differences. |
| Source and documentation | Review requested provenance and incoming records for the order. | State any distributor or documentation requirements. |
| Approved substitutions | Evaluate proposed parts through your engineering approval process. | Keep the decision with the affected BOM revision. |
State any unit or batch identification, packaging and inspection or test records you need with delivery. The quotation confirms the operations and evidence included.
What shapes your quotation
A useful quotation describes the complete deliverable and its supply responsibilities. Include these items in the review so you can compare like-for-like scope.
- Exact BOM part numbers, purchase quantities and current availability.
- Source restrictions, requested documentation and customer-supplied materials.
- Approved alternatives, excess purchasing quantities and ownership of remaining stock.
The delivery plan follows file readiness, approved materials and the requested operations. Share your target date and any items already available to help review the schedule.
Frequently asked questions
Can I approve the source for specific parts?
Include the source and documentation requirements with those BOM lines. Availability and any proposed exception are reviewed before procurement.
Can a similar part be used when my MPN is unavailable?
Only under the agreed approval policy. Matching value and package alone do not establish electrical or application suitability. Provide approved alternatives or an engineering contact.
Can I supply expensive or long-lead ICs?
Yes. Mark them as customer-supplied and include the quantity, identification, packaging and expected arrival.
How are remaining components handled?
Agree ownership, quantity reporting, return or retention before the order. Purchase packaging and process needs may differ from the exact fitted quantity.
