Prototype PCB Assembly
Get assembled prototype boards for bring-up, design verification and your next engineering revision. Combine PCB fabrication, parts sourcing and assembly, or send your own component kit with the build files.

Prototype boards that help you move the design forward
A prototype order should support a clear development task: first power-on, interface checks, firmware work, enclosure fit or a pilot trial. Tell us which decision the boards need to support so the build quantity and verification effort fit your project.
GlobalWellPCB reviews fabrication, parts and assembly together. You can request turnkey sourcing, supply your own parts or split the BOM. Keep each prototype configuration tied to its drawing, component list and firmware revision.
Choose turnkey, consigned or mixed material ownership.
Request the checks needed for the next design decision.
Separate BOM variants, firmware and assembly exceptions.
Carry reviewed prototype findings into a controlled repeat build.
Choose the work your order needs
Engineering prototypes
Build the current circuit revision for bench work and software bring-up. Identify optional components, test points and any known design exceptions before the board is assembled.
First-article builds
Use an agreed initial sample to review component orientation, construction and fit before continuing the balance. Define the evidence, approval owner and response window.
Pilot and repeat samples
Exercise the intended assembly and test route when preparing for a repeat order. Record changes from bring-up so the next batch starts from the revised build package.
How the project moves forward
- 01
Explain what the prototype must prove
Send the available files, quantity, revision and bring-up or evaluation objective.
- 02
Review the sample construction
Resolve BOM, orientation, DNP, material supply and test-access questions.
- 03
Approve the first build
Agree any first-article pause, evidence and acceptance before the balance proceeds.
- 04
Evaluate and release the next revision
Use the delivered boards for your checks and return approved changes for the next batch.
What to send for a useful quotation
| File or requirement | Details to include |
|---|---|
| PCB fabrication files | Gerber and drill data, board construction and any panel requirements. |
| Component BOM | Exact manufacturer and MPN, quantity, fitted references and approved alternatives. |
| Placement file | CPL / pick-and-place data identifying X/Y, side, rotation and reference designator. |
| Assembly drawing | Polarity, DNP positions, mechanical details and special component instructions. |
| Sample configuration | Identify DNP positions, alternate population variants and preliminary design items. |
| Bring-up and first-article plan | List initial checks, firmware, critical measurements and any approval hold point. |
Include the quantity, current revision and required delivery date. If a decision is still open, identify it in your message so the review can address it.
Know what will be checked and returned
| Review area | What it covers | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Assembly matches the sample revision | Inspect orientation, populated positions and soldering against the released files. | Record any approved prototype exceptions. |
| Packages needing hidden-joint review | BGA or other concealed connections need a suitable inspection method. | Name critical devices for X-ray scope review. |
| The sample answers the development question | Board bring-up and functional measurements follow a defined procedure. | Agree what is done during assembly and what your lab will verify. |
State any unit or batch identification, packaging and inspection or test records you need with delivery. The quotation confirms the operations and evidence included.
What shapes your quotation
A useful quotation describes the complete deliverable and its supply responsibilities. Include these items in the review so you can compare like-for-like scope.
- Prototype quantity, populated sides, package mix and one-time setup.
- Current BOM availability, supply ownership and any approved part changes.
- First-article review, firmware, fixtures and requested test or report work.
The delivery plan follows file readiness, approved materials and the requested operations. Share your target date and any items already available to help review the schedule.
Frequently asked questions
Can you review files that are still preliminary?
Send what is available and mark the unfinished items. A planning quotation can state assumptions, while purchasing and assembly require the approved revision and part list.
Can I supply components for the prototype?
Yes. Identify the consigned BOM lines and provide part quantities, labels and suitable packaging. We can review sourcing for the remaining lines.
How many samples should I order?
Base the quantity on bench work, firmware development, fit checks and spare boards you need. Send the requested quantity for review; the right sample count depends on your evaluation plan.
Can I pause for first-article approval?
Request the hold point with the order. Define the sample quantity, photos or records, approval contact and response window so the pause is part of the schedule.
